ASUU Ends Strike at Abia Varsity

The instructional staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Abia country college Uturu has decided to suspend its strike action after seven days of downing tools.

The union made this choice at some point of an emergency congress held at the college’s principal campus in Uturu, wherein the instructional body of workers resolved to return to their lecture rooms.

Dr. Chidi Slessor Mba, the chairman of ASUU on the college, showed the improvement. He stated that Governor Alex Otti has proven dedication to addressing the union’s needs, which more often than not centered on the price of eleven-month income arrears and different related subjects, by means of inviting them for a dialogue. Mbah expressed confidence that the governor would fulfill the union’s demands in a timely manner.

Students who had returned from the Christmas and New 12 months vacations expressed their relief on the news of the strike being known as off, as it might have disrupted their educational calendar.

It is worth noting that Mba Ukariwo, the chairman of the Governing Council of Abia state college, had formerly appealed to ASUU individuals at the institution to stop the strike and have interaction in talk to address their concerns.
